Jap Man
Opera Kirtan by Mahadev OK
Jap Man is a plant-based tale that brings together various artistic disciplines like music, singing, dance, painting, and sculpture to create interactive and collective performances.
Jap Man is a Kirtan Opera open to all ages, structured around the model of a Kirtan (mantra chanting). The story is told, played, and danced collectively under the guidance of the elevated vibrations of mantra chanting.
This meditative and narrative formula allows for a playful approach to collective meditation and opens up perspectives for liberating collective expressions.
The Jap Man project unfolds in several phases
- 2024-2026: Multiple creations of Opera Kirtans in India and Europe during spiritual and yoga festivals
- 2024-2025: Recording of a music album, scheduled for release in 2026
- 2025: Production of a short film serving as a model for the scenographies of the performances (watch video below)
- From 2026: Worldwide tour and documentary shooting*
A Jap Man collective (join Whatsapp Group) has been formed, and we welcome there artists, amateurs or professionals, musicians, actors, dancers, choreographers, stage directors, visual artists, and technicians to continue serving spiritual art and organizing Jap Man performances wherever possible.
